Fresh off his published chapter in Greener Data – Volume 2, ECS CEO Jay Lawrence sat down for an interview where he explored all the most important subjects facing the industry from the ECS perspective, from cybersecurity to green technologies and more. 5G
ECS has been concentrating a lot of effort toward creating solutions around the issue of 5G moving compute power toward the edge. The shift brings new challenges, from environmental factors to thermal management and beyond. ECS technicians and engineers are currently working on several program developments in regard to 5G at the edge, tailoring computing platforms to meet those evolving needs.
AI
Naturally, an organization that focusses on computer solutions is also involved with AI storage, AI networking, and AI compute. Accordingly, ECS has developed a strong AI practice in an effort to be at the forefront of solving AI workflow problems for IT teams now and in the future. This presents a major challenge, as AI is still in its infancy and its market position in two years time is anyone’s guess. At ECS, we are working under the assumption that AI’s growth won’t solely be devoted to inferencing, machine learning, and generative AI. We see that the workloads will become more fragmented, and the compute requirements will become more specialized. Collectively, ECS is staying on top of all AI progress as a major digital infrastructure trend to continue offering smart, responsible, and profitable AI solutions.
